Singapore Workshop Weekend

10/31 -11/3 2024

Studios: SPACES & AAC

Join Aaron Koz for a jam packed workshop weekend to level up your flow, strength, spins, and swings on straps, silks, and sling!

This science-based workshop weekend is stacked with workshops covering content pulled from Koz’ over 10-years of teaching aerial, partner acrobatics, and handstands. While the number of workshops may be overwhelming, there’s something for everybody no matter your level in the air or on the ground.

Handstands For Everybody

Handstands are built from a set of fundamentals that when practiced consistently allow even beginner students to overcome strength, mobility, and mental challenges.

Where: SPACES @theaerialground
Price (SGD): 130
What to wear/bring: water, clothes that you can move in.

Spinning Straps Sequencing (No Invert Needed

Want to spin it all out doing gooey and flowing sequencing on straps?

C-shaping & Waist Rolls on Silks

This in-depth journey into waist rolling, including floorial, hipkey roll-ups, sling rotational drills, catch/release c-shaping drills (silks), and c-shaping on 1 and 2-arms on straps/fabric will investigate the many ways to effectively progress through c-shaping skills while reducing injury risk (to the rib cartilage, intercostals, low back, and more).

Progression through the c-shaping skill tree will be covered, as well as how to program and periodize the various drills in a training cycle. Students will walk away with a variety of strength, mobility, and c-shape specific drills.

Highlights from Past Trainings

“I had so much fun at this straps retreat with Koz! Koz’s straps and overall training knowledge is amazing, and he is able to transfer it well and adapt it to different levels and learning styles. Will definitely attend more of these in the future!” – @acroatianflyer – Matija Hanzevacki

Anyone who is looking to progress in straps should take an opportunity to train with Koz! He has put the time, thought, and research into his coaching methods and it really shows. He is a wealth of information and expertise, but is able to break down and present skills and training in a way that isn’t ever overwhelming. Plus just an all-round excellent human.” – Blue / @blue_ismyrealname

“I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this retreat but it definitely exceeded expectations. I was really impressed by the space and Aaron’s coaching is amazing! I feel like I made significant progress, got to relax, and made some incredible friends.”

“I think the coaching was really great, everything was broken down really well and I think there was a good balance between providing guidance and giving space for participants to pick things to work on, which helps to feel a sense of achievement in areas that are important to you as a participant. I definitely left with a lot of things I know I can take home to incorporate into training to build on, which is really great for something like straps where I know I’m not going to get everything within one week.”

I’ve been to several teacher trainings that did not feel appropriately leveled where I’ve left feeling like I didn’t learn as much as desired or “get my money’s worth”. This training was the first that I have been 100% satisfied with. The amount of material covered was good, and I appreciated learning so many progressions and drills to help students (or myself) work up to a skill. I feel like I have all the tools I need to build training plans for myself as well as lesson plans for experienced aerialists looking to start straps training. You allowed us plenty of time to work through skills thoroughly and get a full understanding of everything, while maintaining a good pace and not making me feel like I was just sitting around waiting for the next thing. You also made it fun – which is hugely important but not often the case with teacher trainings.

Excellent ability to organize and connect information in an accessible way for people coming from different backgrounds, apparatuses, and motivations. I really enjoyed that the atmosphere encouraged us to offer & receive feedback from one another in addition to your feedback, and practice hands on spotting.

Aerial Straps Review Pt. 3 – Caffeinated Acrobat Straps

Caffeinated Acrobat straps are made by a straps artist with safety, grip, and comfort as the priorities, and it shows. I trust them quite a lot, find them versatile, and still quite comfy (but not as comfy as some of the microsuede/velvet makes).  Total scoresPrice: ...

Aerial Straps Review Series Pt. 2 – Lyons Straps

Straps made by a straps-mom. Lyon Straps are new on the scene, but so far have been slinging straps left and right to folks who last minute need new pairs and are based in the US or CA. Overall, they're a solid option for pretty comfy straps for nearly all skills. ...

Aerial Straps Review Series – Pt. 1

Alright y'all, so I'm starting a new series based on the many questions I get about what straps I use, where to buy them, and the pros and cons of each of the different styles and producers of straps. This was partially prompted by my video of single strap breaking on...
